Fitting Into Those 501's

I was emotionally ignorant! Everything was foreign! Nothing was
the same! In some regards, this was good, but it still was unfamiliar
and frightening. Mindless eating and lack of exercise created another
problem. It was December. The snow was falling and the outdoors was
calling, so I took out my favorite 501 blue jeans. They were snug. I
squeezed my chubby butt into them, but they were tight. Yuck! Mortified,
I decided to do something about it. Disgusted by my appearance and
unable to purchase a new pair of 501s, I decided to commit to change.
This would be nothing new. Change, that is. I was flexible. I had to be.
My life had always required I be. So instead of taking a walk, I wrote a
pledge of commitment to myself.
